I think Christian Rap has been around for ages. However I guess it would be almost stereotypical for a Christian to look at something tired and aging, hear an affirmation of their beliefs, and immediately mistake it for something new and revolutionary. But only if they'd already condemned a non-Christian version of the same thing as a path to sin and self destruction. Hmm... Bingo.
Christian "Music" is always crap. Not since the advent of secular music has religious music been any good. I mean, Mozart wrote some kickass masses, and there are some great gospel songs out there, but there is something emasculated about christian rock.
