The House has passed a bill to spend $136 Million to help the Consumer Product Safety Commission test toys for lead and phthalates. This is 1/2 the education budget for the whole state of Wyoming. How do you weigh in?

Agreed with other comments.  The question seems to imply that consumer safety testing is very expensive, but Wyoming is only one of 50 states, and it's one of the most sparsely populated.

Exactly.  And, if government isn't here to protect 'our' children why do we even need them at all?

Well, actually it is the toymakers responsibility. The cost of testing should be passed back onto the manufacturer, maybe a percentage, and hefty fines for any lead contamination would pay for the rest. What use is educating the kids of Wyoming if their brains are being damaged by lead?
