Weng Weng (b. 1957 - d. 1992) was a Filipino actor and martial artist, mostly known for being the shortest adult action hero.
He starred in action movies and pulpy exploitation comedies during the seventies and through the eighties. Films starring Weng Weng include 'Da Best in da West', 'The Cute... the Sexy n' the Tiny', 'The Impossible Kid', 'Agent 00', 'D'Wild Wild Weng', 'Agent 00' and the appropriately titled 'For Y'ur Height Only'.
His recognition around the world grew in April 2007 with the release of the Weng Weng Rap video by The Chuds and John R of R Room.
Here's a 2003 boingboing post on the genre.
And yeah - there's even a Weng Weng fanclub.
WENG WENG IS INCREDIBLE!!!
I have this movie on video. It's intentionally hilarious and very surreal at times.
These films still wouldn't appeal to me if he was tall or average height. Just not my cup of tea.
I watched Weng Weng when I was a kid growing up in the Philippines and always enjoyed them, Probably because he had such cool gadgets and they were small enough that a kid could use it as well!
