Excellent argument. However in most cases, the workers will collectively make far more money than the idea people. Ironically, the "middle men" who put the idea people and the workers together, get the most. CEOs are usually administrators who sift through other people's ideas after a lot of analysis has been done, and then take credit for the good ones. I once heard that 53% of the country is not involved in making goods and services, but rather perform a "middle man" role in getting them to the consumer.
Who does history remember? Edison who supplied the inspiration or all the Perpetrators who were in his employ to do the work and invent "his" inventions? I rest my case.
Laborers are not the one's who make all the money, from what I have witnessed they are the ones "building" stuff, but its the people with the ideas who are highly paid or the people who know where to find the people to hire to do the work for them that have the money, say a CEO of a company. It seems as though society values the "idea" people a bit more than the ones actually doing the work. So I'd have to disagree with you and agree with society on this one.
PollsB does not have to recognize unsoliited ideas, even if they use them. If you are looking for recognition, do something useful, volunteer for a good cause. PollsB has it covered.
For the most part, we -- as a civilization -- are aware of the problems and inconveniences that we experience. Many of us have great ideas on how to solve a problem and I would argue that the majority of people come up with the same ballpark solution when we think of these problems. It's the person that sits down and engineers and/or manufactures a solution that matters. Ideas are easy to come by. Someone to do the work is hard to find.
As Edison said (and I paraphrase) invention is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. That being said, if they're doing the perspiration (99% of the job), why would you get credit for the inspiration (1% of the job).
I don't think your considering (no offense) the possibility of an idea of yours having undesireable results.(I could be wrong)

There is no I in team, however there is one in winner.... and I don't see U in either word.... I'm the I in winner!

Maybe they'll give you a plastic mug with the PollsB logo on it, but you'll have to wait 8 to 11 months for deleivery.
REMEMBER WHEN SGISSIN BEGGED MATCHUPS ADMINISTRATION FOR A MODERATORS JOB RIGHT ON THEIR BLOG?
Just knowing you contributed should be enough for a healthy ego. Obviously you never worked in a team environment & have self worth issues.

The inspiration is where all the magic happens!
