Is the fish robot going to revolutionize marine biology?

Japanese scientist have invented a perfect robotic fish: it looks exactly like a red snapper, with hand painted scales, and  moves like one using a silent "unique propulsion system" similar to that of real fish. The robot fish, called Tai-robot-Kun can change the depth of its swim using a ballast system, similar to the floating system used by submarines.

The fish can swim for a full hour, and can carry a variety of tiny cameras and other devices. It is powered with an on-board battery, and according to its creator, professor Ikuo Yamamoto, can be mass produced and used for a variety of research and exploration missions.

Prof. Yamamoto's team is now working on a Manta Ray robot, with the same principle.

I wonder how long before a bigger fish eats it.  Maybe they should equip it with a taser.
