Of course, by international standards he isn't very liberal at all. He would be in the centre right in some countries, and centre left in others. He only seems so leftist to Americans because politics in the US has been skewed so massively to the right in the last 30 years.

i see that the empty suit picture has raw emotions running amok.....such a shame....this election does not need to be based on emotion...it needs to based in fact...have you looked at his voting record, what little there is of it? if you have you would see he is far left...he only started to move to the center after he announced he would run for president....he is trying to be what he is not just to get votes...but yet he speaks of change...i only see him changing to get elected....which is not the change he is trying to promise...which in my very humble opnion is not what we need now in america...we need strong leadership that has a good hold on keeping our military and national security at top priority....mccain would not have been my first choice but he is what we have nonetheless....

how am i twisting facts? facts like his lack of experience...or the fact that with what little time he has served as senator his record is uber liberal....and you can't tell me he spent all those years in a church with jeremiah wright and had no clue as to the hate the man preached...the fact that he pretty much hates his white roots....there is oh so much more about the man that is a turn off.....and if you perceive me as being disrespectful it is clearly in your mind....i mean no disrespect to anyone....i only want the american people to wake up and realize this man that run for senate, which from my understanding he is not fulfilling his obligations in that regard either....there is just so much we do not know about this man....many say i am racist towards obama....which is not the case as i would vote in the blink of an eye for condi rice or even colin powell....would you hire a man to run a major corporation with as little experience as obama has? and don't answer with emotion...i know i would not hire him....

I would say that his overall promise for change regards the social and political division that makes it difficult for things to get done -- an effort to eliminate the strong cultural, economic, and political division between whites and blacks, an effort to eliminate or mitigate division between conservatives and republicans, and an effort to soften the nationalistic rivalries we face with other countries.  In short, he's offering an era of unity and cooperation to replace this era of fragmentation and self-interest.  I don't think that he can realistically mend these types of rifts -- I think it's ideology at it's worse (i.e. least realistic) -- but I understand the message well enough.

No ma'am; I HAVE been paying attention, and more so than I'm asking of you here. All I'm expecting you to do is use your short-term memory, when only a few months ago Hillary was the "most liberal" and then four short years when Kerry was the "most liberal." It would strike any rational observer that this is a little odd: that whenever the Democratic Party fields a candidate, that person becomes the most liberal. Coincidence? I think not.-How come Bernie Sanders never gets the "most liberal" title? He doesn't hide the fact that he's a Socialist. What about Dennis Kucinich? Believe me, plenty of us on the Left criticize Obama for being too conservative. He certainly isn't any "extremely far left" politician. Looking at him objectively, I'd have to say he's a Centrist.-By the way, your argument has become self-contradicting; if Obama WERE the most liberal senator, with the most liberal voting record, then he would not be an empty suit. If he were an empty suit, then he would not be threatening to you as "the most liberal senator." You can't have it both ways.

I answered the question. Please read again.  As for your new comment:  Harvard Law degree, Senator, infamous world speaker.  I think you're twisting the facts to suit your vote and being disrespectful to me and others in the process.

if you say he is not then you have not been paying attention....even with his short record he is extremely far left....look at his voting record....that is when he has managed to show up to vote....

Not by any standard or measure is Obama "the most liberal senator." In fact I would like him better if he was. He wants to increase troop strength in Afghanistan. That's not exactly liberal, nor is it consistent with a plan to "destroy our military."-Notice that when Hillary Clinton was expected to be the Democratic nominee, SHE was called "the most liberal Senator" by conservative media. And when Kerry was running, HE was "the most liberal Senator." This doesn't give you a case of cognitive dissonance? It should, if you are able to think independently.

I'd like to see this video. Can you tell me where I might find it.  Just what did Obama say that gave you that impression.

I could, but I don't see any point.  You aren't actually interested in his policy ideas or his views, or you would have already investigated them for yourself.  You're just baiting his supporters while pretty much putting your hands over your ears and going 'lalalalalalala.... not listening'.  Is your next part of this argument going to be 'I know you are but what am I?' or 'If you like Obama so much, why don't you marry him?'
