i think the taking of hair from unwilling donors as may happen india is wrong- but ultimately it is only hair. Worse things are happening in the world. I find it concerning when some black women feel the need to have extensions in order to feel good looking as their hair may not grow to a long length as a europeans hair may. If this is the reason for extentions, which it soemtimes is i have noticed, then its concerning.But in general- if there is no subconcious connotation etc- its just another style.
I wore hair extensions for halloween once. It's the only way that I could ever have blonde hair half-way down my back. My hair is thin, and light brown... bleaching thin hair is not conducive to growing it long.

It's not the exchange of hair and money, but the potential "exchange" of esteem that would concern me.
