Israel cold-calling Lebanese citizens, warning them of the Hezbollah take over and threatening with retaliation
Lebanon claims that Israel has been delivering recorded phone messages to Lebanese residents warning them of the Hezbollah, and suggesting it wouldn't be a good idea allowing the organization to take root in their towns. Some reports even mention threatening messages.
Israeli newspaper Haaretz, reports that Lebanese Telecommunications Minister, Jibran Bassil, already contacted the UN to complain on what they see as a violation of the Lebanese sovereignty.
Other reports say Israel is also using cell phone text messages as a way to communicate messages to Lebanese citizens.
Israel did not confirm the allegations, but a spokesperson said they will investigate. The same kind of psychological warfare has taken place during the recent Lebannon war between Israel and the Hezbollah, with recorded messages for Israel and flyers were sent to towns and villages in which the organization operated.
