I've been trying to figure that out for myself.I used PSP a while ago, but it wasn't quite as easy for me to use as Photoshop is. But if I can find it again (last time I tried to download it, I couldn't find it on the website), I'll probably download it since my Photoshop won't seem to install on my computer and I don't like having to use my boyfriend's computer all the time.
I thought about adding PSP, but I've never been impressed with Corel products. Maybe I'm not being fair, because I haven't checked out Paint Shop Pro since it was Corel PhotoPaint. It might be better now, but as a graphic arts professional, it would be hard to tear me away from Photoshop.
A friend of a friend works at Adobe, so I get the software at employee prices (like CS3 Creative Suite - Web Developer edition for $150). However, I have used GIMP a little bit, and it was decent at everything I tried to do. Most people that I've known said PaintShop Pro was a great alternative. I used it back when it was shareware, and liked it, although it was a far cry from Photoshop at the time. I've heard that it's almost the same, now, and a lot cheaper.

I wouldn't know. I don't have photoshop or any of the above.
