With gas prices so high, I expect that the discounted prices of monster warehouse stores won't be as attractive in the future, and that people will be willing to spend 10% - 20% more for small purchases (i.e. a gallon of milk) at a nearby Wallgreens, rather than go to giant warehouse stores that are further away. Nowadays, a five mile round-trip drive is $1.50 in gas. I can save $1 in gas, and shop more conveniently for that remaining $0.50 and still come out even, when I'm out of milk.
Good Point. Walgreen's motto is to 'Corner the Market' and be on every corner!
