Now that the news is finally out that the Iraq war had nothing to do with terrorism, but much to do with the Bush-Cheney consortium giving Big Oil a chance at carving up, for its profit, Iraq’s oil, isn’t it time for the Senate and the House to get together and hold this unholy administration accountable for trashing our Constitution, ignoring global warming and raising prices on gas and food to the point the country is heading for bankruptcy?
No other government in history could have gotten away with spying on the citizenry and ignoring its needs like this bunch of robber barons.
While George W. Bush was asking the Saudis to pump more oil and making it look as if he really cared, he ignored the Iraqi oil that he said was going to pay for his war. That’s the $500 billion tab he passed on to us.
Even if the Saudis were to pump more oil, who would refine it? The oil companies haven’t built a new refinery here since the ’70s and now they won’t because they, too, fear global warming. Their profits are so high from their speculation and increased gasoline prices that they are not going to bother to make our lives easier.
FDR said we have nothing to fear but fear itself, but I think we have to fear our government, because nobody has been accountable for the rape of the United States.
problably never
Yeah I'm confused too.
Your question and answer options don't make sense. I don't think he will be held accountable if that is what you are asking.
There is not enough time to impeach Bush. IF bush is to be held responsible, he must be sent to war crime trials after he leaves office. Otherwise, there would be too much disruption to the system.
What? nobody says that all these things are bad... Some of them are innappropriate in certain circumstances... For example, you don't want wind farms right in the middle of migratory patterns, but there are windy places that arent in the way of migratory patterns. Geothermal power is only useful in places like New Zealand and Iceland where there are geothermal hotspots. But one thing for sure: WE HAVE TO END OUR DEPENDENCE ON OIL. It is such a versatile substance, with so many different uses, and we are burning it? As the Saudi Oil Minister said: The stone age didnt end because we ran out of stones. Here we must end the oil age, before the oil runs out. Nobody WANTS high oil prices. A rise in oil prices is INEVITABLE. it is the the law of supply and demand.
Richard Richard, you certainly are living up to your nickname. I thought you leftist were all for higher oil prices to control global warming. I am so confused why you are not for higher oil prices now...As far as more refinery capacity. Again it's you leftist who passed the laws preventing the refineries from opening. In fact your utopia is having us all go back to hunter/gathering in harmony with gaia!Let's see, coal? Bad!Wind power? Bad! (according to Teddy Kennedy, it would block his view of the Cape.) NOT ONLY THAT, but think of the poor birds that are going to get shredded by the turbines.Nuke power? GAH BAD! BAD! BAD!!! CHINA SYNDROME!!!Oil? BAD! WE'RE ALL GONNNNNNA MELT!!!! GLOBAL WARMING!!!Solar Power? Bad! It's not efficient! Besides those solar panels mightGeothermal power? BAD!Water power? BAD! The salmon or three toed thudsucker might get hurt and the created lakes will destroy the current ecosystem. You all wanted the higher oil prices to "Get us to break our addiction to oil!" well now you have it. Enjoy.
