I have actually grabbed a moray eel in the wild one time while I was snorkling in Belize. It's first half of it's body was inside the reef and I swam down and grabbed it. It's skin was like wet sandpaper and it's entire body contracted immediately in response to my hand. I swam to the surface quickly after that.
