When critics write very positive movie reviews, you have

CNN's Review of Wall-e reads thusly:

The most consistent production unit in Hollywood just hit another home run. "Wall-E," the Pixar film about a lonely robot seeking companionship on an abandoned Earth, is the best film of the year so far.

I've been anxious to see the movie, and I love most of what Pixar has done, but a strong, positive review usually makes me leary of a film.  Critics usually have very different opinions about entertainment than I have.

The plot summary / spoiler I read for this film indicates that there are a lot of cultural criticisms of our consumerist society, and is strongly influenced by some 1970's environmentalist films (like "Silent Running").  I'm already wincing.  It was made by the same guy who did "Finding Nemo," which is the only Pixar movie so far that I didn't like.  He also did "A Bugs Life" which was okay, but I thought was "the same but worse" than Dreamwork's "Antz."

I almost always disagree with them.

This usually means that the film is in fact a drama, it will be slow, and it will be full of either dry humor or inconsistant bouts of humor. If anything, I just want to see it because Wall-E looks so cute.  Also, if the character is lovable, then it is almost certain it will suck.
