if you think that is bad, the automotive industry has been sitting on the hands and profits for 50 years with no real development of fuel economy nor fuel alternatives.now of course it's media savvy to talk about these long standing issues...

I think it used to be that U.S. fuel prices were artificially low by subsidies, but now they're artificially high by speculators?
