My cats love to kill and play with lizards, birds, mice, etc, but they never eat them. Now, I know they're animals but do they have to kill for fun?

My cats don't eat lizards. They play with them - ripping the tail off first - and then when the lizard no longer moves, they lose interest.
But they can't digest them; I know. It's gross, but they always hack them back up.
But cats like to eat lizards
Though I never tried with my 5 lined skink, I don't think he would have been a fan.
