My son has autism. He has almost no verbal language and he can be difficult to calm down even with medication. Depending upon several factors including how long she is kept in there, what is in there to help her feel comfortable and how she is verbally treated, I think it is an ok situation. You don't want to remove her from the school because that can teach her that if she acts out she gets to go home and not attend school. She might actually feel more calm and able to "re-group" in a "cubicle" like that. My son is not violent. When he does act up. We calmly and firmly tell him to go to his room. He has his tantrum there and comes out when he is ready.
They may not have access to sedatives??? Anyway, mental patients here in the states are shoved into isolation chambers to keep tehm from hurting themselves and the people around them. I don't think what they did is really out of the ordinary.
they should have just drugged her...that way she calms down AND isnt scared anymore.

has anyone googled "josef fritzl" ???
What about the parents? Where are they? What have they said? How do they manage their own child? Surely they would have similar issues at home.
