I understand you don't like juding others, but this poll is actually done out of keen interest for how White Americans view black-white racial intermixture. Thus, your attempt to censure the acquisition of that knowledge by adding how reprehensible you find the research to be, is not at all appreciated.
Yes this is the case but apparently given data from the other poll its changing and nowadays there is a strong shift towards viewing mixed people as White. I found that surprising. The question now, is what do Whites beleive is the propper ethnic identity for such people?
A black/white mixed person is going to look primarily black and so I think they should just say they are black because it would make their life easier in today's society. I think something like this is largely based on what the person looks like.
they should identify themselves as whatever they choose. should? i think not. only a racist would insist they choose. it's not a test. there isn't a wrong answer.
I had to think about this. The key word here is "should." People should identify themselves as people. There is no single genetic marker that one could point to and say, "this is a black person," or "this is a white person." Individual characteristics merge together. Perhaps one day no one will recognize the terms "white" or "black" to identify people.-However, in the present day in the United States, the "one-drop" rule still seems to be in effect. If there is any indication in a human being that there is African ancestry, then that person is considered black. Barrack Obama, for example, is considered black. (BTW, I also consider him the best choice for President.)
Touché

i hate these kinds of polls. I just don't see the need to judge others. as a human race it's one of our worse characteristics.

LOL! i second that!

Not the business of a "white American".
