Even tho the girls are in bathing suits...it's still disturbing...and that in itself did it's job.

It's Spay.  So, do you get involved in the trap, alter and release program?  Wouldn't PETA's money be better spent opening up low cost spay/neuter clinics & trapping feral cats, altering them and then releasing them (since most are too wild to be adopted as pets) instead of killing them?  Where was PETA after Hurrican Katrina left thousands of pets homeless & rescue/money was needed?  Nowhere!  Yes, people need to be RESPONSIBLE pet owners, but I can't see a big change in that when many people are'nt even responsible parents with their children. Instead of donating money to PETA, send your money to no-kill shelters, trap & release programs and the people who take animals out of kill shelters and foster them until permanent homes can be found.

Maybe if you all would learn to SPADE or NEUTER your animals and ACTUALLY care for them; this shit wouldnt need to happen. Someone has to make a stand for it...and it may be sometimes irrational or overthe top but it needs to happen. SO GET OVER IT. You all arent doing anything about it. Just critizing those who are at least giving some effort; who cares if its too much or too little...its something. So get off the computer and go make the world better. with or without peta.-CMM

PETA - People Eating Tasty Animals.

PETA brings attention to the plight of animals.  This particular demonstration certainly drew attention, which allowed activitists outside of the cages to engage individuals in civil conversation.  So many people said they had no idea what went on.  Now that they know better, they have the chance to make a difference by using their purchasing power to affect change in the inexcusable industry.  Anyone who thinks chauvinism made this protest empty and meaningless totally missed the mark.  These women chose to demonstrate to draw attention to the plight of factory farmed chickens and it was successful in its mission.  To those of you who voted this protest was chauvinistic...do you have the same feeling towards for-profit businesses who use women to sell their products?  And do you support those businesses by purchasing their products (cologne, gum, toothpaste, cars, magazines, etc.)?  Why, in that case, would you be ok to line the pockets of an industry who markets its products through "chauvinism" yet find an organization and demonstrators who wish to help change the horrific conditions in which chickens are forced to endure (debeaking, crammed in cages etc.) to satisfy your taste for eggs and to allow an industry a greater profit margin.  Your "rationale" makes no sense and is part of the reason animals continue to be treated the way they do.

If you only knew what PETA was really about.  From July 1998 through December 2007, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) killed over 19,200 dogs, cats, and other "companion animals." That's more than five defenseless creatures every day. PETA has a walk-in freezer to store the dead bodies, and contracts with a Virginia Beach company to cremate them. Not counting the pets PETA spayed and neutered, the group put to death over 90 percent of the animals it took in during the last five years. And its angel-of-death pattern shows no sign of changing.

I agree with PETA on most of their fundamantal tenets.  However, they have the most retarded "demonstrations" that were ever thought up.  I think of them as being a parody of an activist group.
