I had to once when the vet asked me to because my cat had gum deisese...
its horrible (cat) he is 17 when he yawns it comes out its really bad.... sometime i smell it just to see how bad it is, its fun haha, just a strange pleasure o mine ;

My dog's breath is not so bad but my cat is 10 and some of her teeth are missing and her breath is awful.
