What kind of communication techniques used in online chatting most annoy you?


Most of us have witnessed the changes made in the english language (other languages too... but we are talking about english here) throughout the online world... They are supposed to make chatting faster and more efficient... But they can deffinately be annoting sometimes... What kind of communication techniques used in online chatting most annoy you?

afk = away from keyboard, afaik = as far as I know, iirc = If I recall correctly.  :-P  It's more common in the kind of chat and message groups that debate a lot, like religion, politics, and the like...

lol (unavoidable I guess)  I have to admit I do use the "r u" more often then I should... hehe

yes word/letter combinations are very annoying...there's no point. Especially for intelligent adults that do it, just spell out "are you" instead of " r u" for god sakes lol

I don't mind lol, afk, afaik, iirc, and other abbreviations that are widely known conventions.  I hate the unconventional ones, like "fnly gng i sps" (an actual text message from last week).

Most of the abbreviations annoy me, as do the number-words.  They're just silly and it's not that hard to type normally.  I also don't like when people don't capitalize proper nouns, but I'm more forgiving of that.
