How do the other dolphins treat Winter, the first bionic-tailed dolphin?
‫Winter the dolphin lost her tail in a crab trap when she was just two months old. She was found floating in distress off the coast of Florida, and "adopted" by Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Florida
Winter learned how to swim without a tail, but vets feared her waggling might damage her spine. So came in to the picture Kevin Carroll, who has designed prosthetics for dogs, an ostrich and a duck in the past.
The project took a year and a half, since a dolphin's tail has to move along with her full spine, in every direction. At the end, Winter received a brand new silicone and plastic tail
