Excellent Poll - makes you think about life, all should have rights but I guess we will never see it all in the end

I believe in rights for people - not zygotes, spirits, essences, souls, cell clusters or potentialities. To suggest that "unborn people" have a legitimate claim to civil rights is to cheapen the struggle of actual, living people who happen to be black, female, gay, and, in some mathematically insignigicant instances, straight, white, and male.

I agree.  That's why I said "sort of" which was really vague and informal.  Haha.  But yeah, I get what you're saying and I'm all for bipartisanship and civil rights.

I would like to believe that in the not so distant future, the conservative pro-life advocates and the liberal civil rights advocates will find common ground, and give at least some minimal legal rights to the unborn - due process under the law - a voice to those without a voice.  I am not for a total ban on abortion, although I am for the right to due process.

And let's sort of keep it that way.
