Should scientists interfere with nature in order to save animals' life?

‫Pierre, a 25-year-old penguin living at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, was having a hard time swimming, because he had lost most of his waterproof feathers

The scientists, who saw him shivering in the water, came up with the idea of a wet suit - similair to the diving gear humans wear.

Pierre's custom-made suit has a Velcro fastener at the back, covers the penguin's torso and has small openings for his flippers.‬

I understand the other side of this coin, natural order, but since we have done so much to destroy our planet and everthing in it I feel it is allowed to step in where necessary to undo the harm already done or give aid where needed. Maybe research can use Pierre's case to gather data to aid in protecting others of his species. We learn from our mistakes, but the days of non-intervention as the only option died with Darwin.

I think as humans, we're supposed to help out animals.
