Do you understand how Johan Lorbeer's Performance trick works? if so, plz comment and explain

German performance artist, Johan Lorbeer, found a way to "walk on air". Lorbeer, who has been performing since the 1970's, has been known as the "man who walks on air", and his stunt includes some kind of optical illusions that makes him look like he is defying the laws of gravity

Do you understand how Johan Lorbeers Performance trick works? if so, plz comment and explain

Demon spirits help levitate him to give the false illusion that he has some kind of power, just like in all cases of real levitation. What or who is he in league with ? thats the question, or is he involved in any occultic teachings ??????? hmmmm..

Fake arm connected to the wall. It's a Houdini trick he's ripped off I think.

(Reply)

He is using a harness I've came across this pic before. The fake arm is bolted to the wall with a special harness attached. Johan Climbs into the harness early in the morning so no-one knows and he stays there for hours, waala no-one knows how the trick is done.

the hand on the wall is a false hand connected to a pole which is under his sleeve, which is holding the man up, his real arm however is hiddin in his jacket in some way.

I, being God, levitated him there. He asked me to do so after I claimed his father and mother in a fatal DUI accident. They were both wasted.

No, his arm is real. But he is fake and so is the building.

(Reply)

Arm against the building isn't his real one. (Which is inside his jacket in this particular performance) What you see is a falsie attatched to the  building, to which is attatched a harness that allows him to remain aloft.

um if u dont actually know (as in havnt seen it irl or at least pics of his trick) then STFU!!!! becauase u all sound like dum fucks.  He has a fake arm that goes into the wall in hi left sleeve there is a harness that comes down and wraps around his gooch and straps to each leg.  He gets up with a ladder and helper then puts on the suit to hide the harness.  l2research or go to germany dont show ur stupidity on the internet  cuz now we all know how fucking retarded u all are

there are pictures to prove you're wrong and it is a fake arm.go to different sites, don't sound to sure before you post next time, when you clearly just made that up in your head.  research it first.

(Reply)

actually you are wrong. the arm is real. there is no point in making a fake one. Theres's a steel rod going from the wall through his sleeve then down to his feet underneath his clothes which is secured into the wall

the actual trick is that the arm touching the wall is fake which he has holstered to his body. his real arm is inside the jacket and he is held securely in place by a harness attached to the fake arm.

His arm and suit are fake. The arm is connected to the wall and holding the rest of him up through his suit in a rigid plastic/metal/whatever structure. His real arm is hidden behind his jacket. I may be slightly wrong but the fact his arm is attached to the wall is very revealing.

The trick is that you beleive the photo. The people in the photo are part of the performance. As long as they look curious then you think they are just bystanders..

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 19:04 CDT

there is something anchored into the wall that creeps into his sleve and attatches to a platform on his feet.  this would explain his feet being flat.  alternitively it could be attatched to his waist.  This is the same trick indian shamen use to seem to be sitting in midair simply holding their staff.

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 19:02 CDT

Yeah was easy to tell he was attached via the wall. Only way it would actually work. You can see the outline of his left arm in one of the pics. Very well put together though and requiring some sneaky engineering to work.

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 18:53 CDT

Look at his feet. If he was really 'in air' his feet would not look like he is standing on something. This is silly.

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 18:26 CDT

he's just got a really strong arm, and sticky back plastic on his hand...

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 18:06 CDT

theres metal plates embedded in his skull and a giant magnet sticking out from a window on the third floor at the very height where the force of attraction equals his weight...he then uses his hand against the wall to maintain the balance

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 17:41 CDT

That's not his real hand touching the wall. It's a fake one and theres a drill through the hand into the wall that's attatched to a harness which holds him up under his suit.

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 17:32 CDT

You see his hand resting on the wall. There is a meatal bar running through his sleeve. When it hits his body it is attatched to a body harness hidden beneath his suit. All he had to do was hook himself up to a pre-drilled hole and make sure his feet didn't droop. At least, thats my guess. Who knows, it might be magic

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 17:04 CDT

it's alright, no one realizes it'd be a better trick if you'd wait until there's a big line up of spectators and hit him in the face with a basketball or football or something american

Photoshopped!

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 15:42 CDT

Yes it is the old yogi trick. there is a support attached to the wall that runs through his arm. It has to go down to his feet or he wouldnt be able to hold the position. It ia all cleverly hidden under his clothes. The arm having to stay proped against the wall is the big giveaway

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 14:56 CDT

its a fake arm..........duh

It's magic damnit.  Doesn't anyone believe in dark wizards anymore?

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 14:29 CDT

agreed - it seems obvious, especially from the second photo. something looks "off" about his arm, probably because there is a beam or poll or something coming out of the wall and attached to him. he must come down with sore ribs :)

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 14:22 CDT

yeah that isn't that hard to figure out.there is probably something attatched to the wall that runs through his sleeve and down to his feet and he's standing on it. you'd think that him having his arm on the wall all the time would completely give it away...

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 13:42 CDT

It's the old "floating yogi" trick, except the support runs down to the foot rather than under the butt.

It's a trick. I just don't know how it's done. That's the real fun of illusion.

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 11:22 CDT

If you look at his arm its obviously too long, meaning there is a rod or other peice of machinery supporting him.

(Reply)
posted Apr 18th, 2008 at 10:00 CDT

There is a support bar running from the wall and across his back and it is attached to a rig that supports his body.  He cannot move his arm from the wall and he has to keep his legs straight for support.  The suit coat and pants are loose enough to cover the rig and thus the trick works.  Without better photos, or knowing more about him, he could have a full fake arm as the support.

He's standing on a piece of glass. You can just see the outline in one of the pictures.

Yeah, I don't know either, but I think Ultranerd has a good guess at it.  There has to be some kind of support going through the sleeve of his arm...

My guess: he's using a fake arm, that he preattaches to the wall, then attaches himself using some kind of harness to it. It probably runs throughout his blody and stops at his other shoulder. He wouldn't be able to do this wearing a short sleeve shirt, so he's always in a suit.
