I have seen them on tv but never in person. They are such brutal acts of violence that it makes me wonder why they are allowed in some places.

Of course, you're right, hazing cannot be both banned or tolerated. When I realized I had made a mistake, I asked another question: "should hazing be banned?". Anything else you would like to say about hazing, have you experienced, or watched, hazing incidents?
